Anyone can claim they do great restoration work. Photos of actual jobs are harder to argue with. We’ve pulled together a few of the transformations our crews have handled across Brooklyn, from Park Slope brownstones to prewar co-ops in Sheepshead Bay. Some of these jobs took three days. Some took three weeks. All of them ended with a dry, clean, structurally sound home.

Recent Transformations
Burst Supply Line in a Park Slope Brownstone Parlor
Before
AfterA braided steel supply line under the bathroom sink let go while the family was out for the day. By the time they got home, water had run through the parlor ceiling and into the oak flooring below. We extracted standing water within hours, set Dri-Eaz and Phoenix air movers with a desiccant dehumidifier to pull moisture from the joist bays, and logged RH (relative humidity) readings twice daily until the structure hit dry standard. Two weeks later, the parlor was refinished and the only sign anything happened was the new paint job.
Black Mold Discovery Behind a Bay Ridge Kitchen Wall
Before
AfterThe homeowner called about a musty smell that wouldn’t go away no matter how much they scrubbed. We traced it to a slow drip at the sink drain connection that had been soaking the wall cavity for months. After setting containment with negative air pressure, our crew removed the affected drywall, HEPA-vacuumed every framing surface, and applied an antimicrobial treatment before drying the cavity to below 15% moisture content. New drywall, fresh paint, and a properly sealed drain connection later, the kitchen smelled like nothing at all, which is exactly how a kitchen should smell.
Kitchen Grease Fire in a Williamsburg Rental Conversion
Before
AfterA grease fire that started on the stovetop never reached the structure, but smoke and soot got into everything. Soot is acidic, and the longer it sits on painted surfaces, the more damage it does. We chem-sponged every wall and ceiling, degreased the cabinets, and ran an ozone generator to break down the smoke odor at the molecular level. The landlord had tenants back in the unit nine days after the fire, with a working kitchen that didn’t smell like a campfire.
Sewage Backup in a Bensonhurst Finished Basement

This is the kind of job that humbles you if you rush it. A city main backup pushed Category 3 water, which is the trade term for water containing sewage, through a floor drain and across a finished basement. We removed all affected porous materials, including carpet, padding, and the lower drywall, then disinfected every hard surface before starting psychrometric drying, which is just a precise way of saying we measure moisture in the air and materials until the room hits dry standard. The basement was rebuilt about three weeks later. The homeowner told us it looked cleaner than it did before the backup, which is a generous compliment after a week like that one.
Ice Dam Ceiling Collapse in a Dyker Heights Colonial

Brooklyn winters produce more ice dam issues than people expect, especially on older colonials with poor attic ventilation. This one gave way in the middle of the night, bringing the master bedroom ceiling down along with saturated insulation. Our crew removed the debris, dried the ceiling joists with an Injectidry system, which pushes air through small drilled holes directly into wet cavities, and rebuilt the ceiling with new drywall. The homeowner had a finished bedroom again in ten days, and we recommended an attic ventilation upgrade that would stop the same problem next winter.
Toilet Overflow Soaking Three Floors of a Bed-Stuy Townhouse

A running toilet on the top floor overflowed for over an hour before anyone noticed, sending water through two full floors of a Bed-Stuy townhouse. Water travels the path of least resistance, and in old construction with balloon framing, that often means straight down through wall cavities and between floor joists. We opened the necessary drywall, installed XPOWER air movers and dehumidifiers on every affected floor, and took moisture readings from each stud bay until the entire structure was dry standard. The repair portion took longer than the drying, which is common on multi-floor jobs, but the end result was a house with no measurable moisture anywhere.
