Meet the Brooklyn Team Behind Dryden Restoration Brooklyn

We’re the crew that shows up when a pipe lets go in Park Slope at 2 a.m. or when a bathroom fan has been quietly feeding mold in Bay Ridge for a year. We’re not a franchise with rotating subcontractors. We’re an independently owned and operated Kingswell company, which means the people who answer the phone, pull the baseboards, and sign off on the drying log are the same people you’ll see on the job. Our Brooklyn team has worked together long enough to finish each other’s sentences, and we think that’s the point.

Our People

Carl Brandt, Owner

Carl founded Dryden Restoration Brooklyn in 2005 after spending his early years working commercial water losses across the five boroughs. He holds IICRC certifications in water damage restoration and applied structural drying, and he still walks active job sites every week. Not to check up on people. To read the meters himself. Carl is the one who wrote the 365-Day Done Right Promise into the contract, mostly because he got tired of hearing homeowners say they’d been burned by a restoration company before. He lives in Kensington and will talk your ear off about brownstones if you let him. His crew knows better than to ask about the Mets.

Luis M., Lead Technician

Luis has been with Dryden for eleven years and runs most of our large water losses in Brooklyn. He’s certified in water damage restoration and keeps our Dri-Eaz and Phoenix drying equipment dialed in, but what he really has is a memory for building quirks. Pre-war plaster in Ditmas Park, post-war framing in Sheepshead Bay, those 1980s condos along the water in Mill Basin, he knows what’s behind each wall before he opens it. Luis grew up in Sunset Park and still lives there. He’s the guy who will explain psychrometry, which is the science of how water moves through air and materials, using a coffee filter and a joke, and you’ll actually understand it.

Dana R., Senior Installer

Dana handles the rebuild side of our work, the part where the drying is done and the room has to look like nothing ever happened. She joined Dryden in 2017 with a background in finish carpentry and took to restoration work because, as she puts it, building a wall is easy but building a wall that matches a 1910 original is the actual trade. Dana is trained in mold remediation and works to IICRC and RIA standards on containment and cleanup. She’s from Staten Island originally, now lives in Crown Heights, and she’s the reason our job sites end up cleaner than most people’s kitchens before dinner.

Marcus T., Service Coordinator

Marcus is the voice on the phone at any hour of the night, because a live person answers every call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and that person is usually Marcus. He came to Dryden in 2019 from a family insurance office, so he knows how to talk to adjusters without making homeowners do the legwork. Marcus keeps our arrival windows honest and our documentation in order, which is the part of restoration nobody sees but everybody feels. He lives in Flatbush, coaches youth basketball on Saturdays, and can tell you within half an hour when Luis will actually pull up.

One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page follows the same Kingswell Way, the same set of values we’ve used since 2005 and the same values used by every independently owned Kingswell company in the network. It is not complicated. Say the price before the work begins, in writing, with no number that changes at the door. Show up in the window we gave you, not four hours later. Leave the place cleaner than we found it, which sounds like a slogan until you see Dana sweep out a basement three times. Put the guarantee in writing, the full 365-Day Done Right Promise, which says if a covered repair fails within a year, we return and correct it at no charge. Come back if it fails. No argument, no invoice, no “that’s not covered.” It is the same standard we run on every water, mold, and fire job in Brooklyn, and the reason we keep the crew on this page instead of hiring strangers per project.
